Denime is one of the “Osaka Five”, the denim companies that helped establish Japan as the leading producer of vintage inspired and faithful reproduction of the denim from the USA in it’s heyday. Established in 1988 by Yoshiyuki Hayashi, Denime’s production is now under the stewardship of Warehouse Co. who after much research are reproducing the “Denime garment” as of the past. Research and recreation, “Made in Japan”.
220A (OFFSET XX MODEL) One Wash
This is a meticulous reproduction of the XX model produced when DENIME was founded. The fabric was developed in collaboration with Kurabo using the original recipe. The same unevenly spun American cotton yarn is rope–dyed with a special indigo color, and finished with a plant–based dye, recreating the deep, distinctive DENIME color. Furthermore, the scouring process before rope dyeing uses room–temperature water, resulting in a darker dyed warp thread with a clear, white center. The GL3 power loom, known for its outdated design, allows the unevenly spun yarn to shine through. These jeans truly combine DENIME’s originality with Warehouse’s spirit of exploration, aiming to be the pinnacle of Japanese denim.
