Samurai Jeans was established in Osaka in 1998 based on the concept that jeans ultimately have no value unless the creator and wearer are united in their commitment. They strive to create fabrics with unique texture and atmosphere, pushing the envelope of what is possible with denim by paying close attention to the provenance of the cotton types they use, their characteristics, the shape of the threads they spin, while also striving to use traditional Japanese dyeing and weaving techniques rather than the more modern and generic methods found elsewhere. Indigo SJWS-SC01 Samurai Cotton Denim Work Shirt
This work shirt is made of Samurai Cotton 10oz denim. The fabric is a selvedge denim made of No. 10 uneven yarn, produced using the same spinning process as the yarn used for Zero Tenjiku and fleece fabrics to make Zero 17oz denim. This special and unique yarn has a hard and uneven texture due to the strong twist that is unique to Zero denim yarn, and also has the original texture and flavor of Samurai Cotton, which has left behind cotton lint and cotton residue. By carefully weaving this yarn on a power loom, the denim has a unique uneven expression and texture. The selvedge is made of yarn dyed a natural brown color, reminiscent of a cotton field. The shirt is designed with work elements, and the stitching is sturdy, with triple stitch rolled seams in some areas to ensure years of wear. The buttons are made of nuts.
