Samurai Jeans was established in Osaka in 1998 based on the concept that jeans ultimately have no value unless the creator and wearer are united in their commitment. They strive to create fabrics with unique texture and atmosphere, pushing the envelope of what is possible with denim by paying close attention to the provenance of the cotton types they use, their characteristics, the shape of the threads they spin, while also striving to use traditional Japanese dyeing and weaving techniques rather than the more modern and generic methods found elsewhere. Black Rope Dyed Indigo Heavy Flannel Work Shirt

A work shirt made of original rope indigo heavy flannel fabric. The fabric is a heavy flannel check that combines the dark blue indigo rope–dyed thread that is normally used for denim with colored thread that is dyed with a special reaction dye that fades naturally. The fabric is a combination of a denim shirt and flannel and, although it is a shirt, it fades and changes over time like denim, yet still has the unique coloring of flannel. The unique orange fabric used here was inspired by ‘joshikimaku’, or the official curtains seen in traditional Kabuki theaters. We also changed up the weave structure here to give the fabric a look meant to resemble sashiko. The black fabric is woven using only black and indigo yarns, and while the color may look a bit plain at first, the ombre check pattern will slowly reveal itself with time and wear. The black colour is available only at overseas stores or those shops directly managed by Samurai.

Postage within the UK is £8.00 and will be provided by DHL EXPRESS – a fully tracked next business day service. If we receive your order by 12.00pm Monday – Friday, we will get it to you next business day. If you order after 12.00pm on Friday then your order will leave on the following Monday.
